It's amazing to think of how many wishes she still has in front of her.
I remember thinking after Piper was born that all of my (and Damion's) wishes had come true, then Audrey came along and whew.....I am all set.
Of course, I would still love a house on a lake, in the woods, with a field and some horses and a big open kitchen and a garden and still be close to the city so I can go out every once in a while and tear it up. Yeah. That's what would wrap it all up nicely.....;)

Jack & Emma, Emma & Jack
I love these two. Jack is the sweetest and Emma is a pistol. They are both outstanding athletes and students and hard workers and really super polite kids. They are fun and funny and I adore them.
That is all.
That is all.
See for yourself.
Love. I already said that.
A few more here.

The Professionals
Photographing kids is really fun, in a crazy, manic, run around-goof around-but don't mess around way.
I love it and I love catching the ridiculous moments.
Photographing kids for professional head shots is a totally different story. The kids really need to hold still and follow direction, yet still make it look spontaneous and natural. I have had pretty good luck with most of the kids I have photographed, these kids, however, really nailed it, made my "job" easy.

Ok and one more of the littlest.
The serious face slays me.

Makes you want to have more kids, right?

The Girl's Got Mad Style
I have always said that my oldest girl has great style, since she was just a little one rockin' her princess nightgown and tiara with her black high tops and hoodies (much to her Grandma's chagrin--sorry mom).
I gathered up some of her favorite things to wear and a bit of heart inspiration from a photo contest and we put a little something together.
Tomorrow I will post some photos of someone else's kids...;)

Check. Her. Out.
With. Love.
I know I am biased, but she is just too much for me. xoxoxoxoxox

Audrey Vamping
This girl is too much.
Really.
Ok, that last one is my favorite. Ever. I know I say that all the time.
These are outtakes from our Holiday session---which went swiftly and disastrously awry.
Those pics are coming soon. I know I know---I say that all the time too. Well, just watch.
You'll see.

Pulling It Together
Happy New Year. I am excited for 2013. Of course I am always excited for the new year. I love the idea of a clean slate. A fresh start. Starting anew. I have been thinking of what the new year holds for me and my family and the phrase that keeps coming to mind is..."the year of living differently"...I live well now and we have a good, happy life, but there are most definitely some changes I want to make. Little changes that will produce big results.
Here are just a few changes that I am looking forward to: Organize my home and create a peaceful and inspirational space for me and my family, get a better sense of what I want this blog to be, become a better photographer, create photos and paintings that are a sincere expression of my vision, spend meaningful time with my kids.
So, here we go, straighten our ties, put on some sparkle and be ready for what 2013 has in store and what we can create for ourselves. What's on your slate? I want to know.
xoxo
PS The photo is from the Holiday pics I did of the girls. I will most definitely post the session soon.

More Audrey
I am working on a new website and so I am going through a bunch of old pics choosing which to highlight.
I found these today tucked into a shoot I did for a little 4 year old boy.
Audrey was teaching him how to "pose"!

All Quiet Here
The girls are doing their first week of summer camp. Today is only the second day all summer that I have been without them. I have to say it has been glorious---both having a full day to myself and the fact that I get to spend the whole summer with them.
Just in case I might miss them too much I spent some time going through old photos. As usual, I was looking for something specific but got distracted--imagine that--and found these sweet pics of Audrey running around in a new (hand-me-down) fairy dress. I don't know if she would even put on a fairy dress right now, or if she would think she was "too old for that", boo hoo, my babies are growing up.

It's bittersweet.

It's Official
I am a Softball Mom.
We are all way into it.
So much so that we have to get a hotel room in the OC just so we don't have to drive back and forth for a hundred games in a row! It is a total blast though, so I am not complaining.
The big Frog and Toad musical is over and done (more about that later), school is out on Friday so most school projects are wrapped up. I am quickly catching up on photo assignments that I have been neglecting and I am really looking forward to summer with my girls.
Much much more coming in the next few months.
Thanks for hanging in there---and special thanks to the few of you who have sent me e-mails telling me you missed the posts. I love that encouragement.
xoxo

Old Skool
Welcome to one of my recent shoots with a super family, going to their home was a quiet step back in time.
See for yourself and you will know the reasons why I love this family; a sweet, punky, rock-a-billy, rock and roll, retro, old skool, tatted up, down to earth, mindful, thoughtful and generally normal, loving family......

...(mostly normal) ha ha....
....cool kid, right?.......
Oh, and they have the cutest puppy I have ever seen.....
...and I mean really-really super cute puppy.
Those eyes slay me.
Those eyes slay me.
I have to say, I am in love with photographing families in this way, a non-traditional way.
Families showing me who they (you) are, so I can record it for them (you).
Happy Friday folks.

Puppy Love
I am so excited........I am off to a shoot for a lovely young couple and their four legged companion.
I love dogs....they are just always so...so...so enthusiastic about everything...
...and accepting, and trusting....
