Day 8--Resting


How is the  exercise challenge going for you?  Yesterday and today I am taking a rest.  It is not in line with the rules I set for myself but I am a bit under the weather and I have been for awhile but have kind of powered through and I finally decided to give it a rest and get well.  I will do some push-ups and stretching later for sure and then back to the hiking tomorrow.  Overall I am pretty happy with it so far.  I am really excited about the online support I have been getting and also seeing others join in.

It is a lot of fun and talks to you during your run (walk) and it will play music as well, sends you messages with your times and pace and personal best---easy to set it all up.  I am going to try out some others and will fill you in.  But, try it, use it!  It's very motivating and you can post it on Facebook and show off your pace!!  Haha, my pace is nothing to brag about, it is all uphill though!  Well, except for the downhill part.


Anyway, I am hoping to finish out this week with the hikes and runs (walks) and then next week start mixing in some weight training.  Great plan, right?

Love Lives Here


There is love in my home....I know this....but I also saw it written about us and I really appreciated that.  It made me feel proud of what we do as a team every day.  We make an effort, we try to keep it positive and light.  We have fun, we spend time together, we treat each other with respect.  We treat our children like the beautiful little independent creatures that they are, guiding them by our own actions and choices.

We have come to accept each other for all that we bring to our 4 member family unit, the awesomeness and the challenges.

So, with this I say, Happy Valentine's Day for today and for everyday as you are working through it with your team.

Day One

No picture today, just words.  Important words.

I am starting an exercise challenge today.  What does this mean?  It means I will purposefully and mindfully move my body in an aggressive and determined way intended to create a more healthful state of being both physically and emotionally for the next 28 days straight.  Or.  I will work out every (most) day(s) starting now.  I am doing this to jump start myself back on my exercise habit, the habit that has slowly lost it's way over the past year or so.  I think if I put it out there and make it a "thing" I will have no choice but to do this.

I will, however, take a day "off" every 5 or 6 days just so I don't injure myself.  It is good to take a day of rest, ask anybody.  On my days "off"  I will purposefully and mindfully move my body in a less aggressive and not so determined way....blah blah...I will stretch for ten minutes......sound good?

So, come on people!  We can do this!!  I got my inspiration from some of you who are putting it out there on Facebook, and strangers, who I have seen every day on my dog walks, running by me red-faced and determined.  I have said to myself, "enough messing around, I want me some of that"!  I want to work hard, feel good and look good.

Flower Friday--In The Trees

The trees are exploding here.


It really is beautiful, especially when the wind scatters all of the tiny little white petals all over the street, but that just reminds me of snow.  Which reminds me of skiing, which reminds me that last I checked I couldn't zip up my ski pants, which reminds me to shut off the computer and get outside and MOVE!
